The Teachers

“Your body exists in the past and your mind exists in the future. In Yoga, they come together in the present.”

Jamie Clarke (Blue Magnetic Eagle)

Yoga feels like freedom from all things that are authentic. Finding yoga ten years ago was like finding the true rhythm for my life. On many levels yoga brings me home to sense of connectedness and real joy.Since starting my yoga journey I have been privileged to learn from masters such as Max Strom, David Life, Shiva Rae, and Larry Shultz, taking a little piece of each of them to add to my teachings. I have found joy in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, learning from many teachers but also have found great benefits in Mandala Yoga which has spiraled openings in deep places and Yin Yoga which has brought stillness and ground.

At the moment I live in London offering classes, workshops, retreats and teacher trainings, but you can join me anywhere on my travels. I combine all my yoga experiences into classes, listening to my students to guide and teach me. At the heart of what I do is the desire to pass on all the gifts of what yoga has brought to me, and above all else allow me to evolve in a way that is true my myself.

Aafke Remant

Aafke’s yoga journey started in 2005 when she took her father to an Iyengar yoga class, hoping it would ease his back pain. With a background in classical dance she has always been drawn to physical expression, but it was not until an impulsive trip to India in 2008, where she studied yoga in the Sivananda tradition, that the true nature and magic of yoga was revealed to her. As Sri K. Pattabhi Jois said: “Practice Yoga and all is coming”. And it did! Integrating her interests in Buddhist Psychology and energy healing, Yoga became a regular spiritual practice central to her life. The transformation she experienced led her to a teacher training course in Ashtanga Vinyasa with The Yoga People, which she completed in 2011. She now looks forward to leaving her corporate life behind, selflessly serving and inspiring others on their own journeys.”As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” (Marianne Williamson)

She offers her eternal gratitude to Jamie Clarke and Dulce Aguilar (The Yoga People) for “opening me to a path with heart”; Mayra Cadengo (Sattva Yoga) for “teaching me the beauty of simpicity”, Narayani (Jivamukti Yoga) for “teaching me what it means to be in this world, but not of this world”; Joyce Chiu Broadbent for her radical acceptance and mindfulness techniques, The Yoga People TTC 2011 yoginis for their unconditional love and her family, for being her biggest teachers.

Lola Ambus

She discovered yoga in 2003, when she first started working as a therapist in a health club in Chelsea, London. Falling in love with it she carried on practicing different styles such as Ashtanga , Hatha and Bikram yoga.

Inspired by her work place, The Elemis Day Spa, she started studying different therapies like Reiki, Indian head and Thai yoga massage. Lola truly believes that a healthy mind resides always in a healthy body! “mens sana in corpore sano”…and the healing of others was the only way to find this magical holistic world which began her path in to yoga.

In 2010 Lola started her journey with the yoga people, where she improved her skills as student of ashtanga vinyasa and began her path as a yoga teacher. Loving the freedom and the truthfulness of yoga she combines this passion with her job as therapist, healing herself and others.
